Noida, Oct 20 A six-court tennis centre, a multi-sport indoor hall, three swimming pools, a golf course, and a cricket academy are among the facilities planned at Noida’s Sector 150 Sports City, where 70 per cent of the approximately 300-acre project area has been earmarked for sports infrastructure, officials said on Tuesday.

The information of the planned facilities comes days after the Noida Authority approved the revised master layout plan for Plot SC-02, developed by Lotus Greens Constructions, marking a step forward in the development of the long-delayed project which has over 8,000 homebuyers as stakeholders.

The proposed facilities include a tennis centre spread across four acres, with two championship courts featuring a pavilion, dressing and dining rooms and spectator seating, besides four practice courts with supporting amenities. Prestige is the consortium member for the tennis centre, a local official said.

An indoor multipurpose sports hall spanning 2.90 acres, with County as consortium member, will accommodate gymnastics, table tennis, squash, badminton, basketball, volleyball and rock climbing, along with the necessary support facilities, the official said.

Another 2.90-acre swimming centre, also being developed with County, will house a 50.05-metre-long and 25-metre-wide main pool, a 25-metre-by-25-metre practice pool and a diving pool of the same dimensions. A medicine centre is also planned as part of the facility.

The proposed sports infrastructure includes a nine-hole golf course and putting green spread across 45.8 acres, along with a golf club and food and beverage facilities. Gaur is the consortium member for the golf course.

Initially when the map was approved a decade ago, the size of the golf course was set at 24 acre, the official added.

An Eldeco-backed cricket academy will come up on 5.71 acres, featuring a cricket field with a moat in accordance with International Cricket Council (ICC) standards, a pavilion, dressing and dining rooms, and residential accommodation for 60-70 boys and girls.

A four-acre multipurpose playfield, with Prateek as consortium member, is also part of the plan, the official said.

A cricket facility is already operational in the project.

The Noida Authority approved the building plans for Plot SC-02 on June 9, following approval of the revised master layout plan, the official said. The Authority has also issued conditional occupancy certificates for four housing projects in Sports City 02, developed by Brick Rise Developers, Ace Infracity, Land Kart Builders and Samridhi Infra Square.

The revised master layout plan was submitted by the developer on January 2 this year along with the prescribed fee. The Authority granted in-principle approval on April 6 at its 222nd board meeting and issued the formal approval letter on May 6, after inviting public objections and suggestions and addressing the concerns raised, the official said.

The development of Sports City has faced delays amid planning and approval issues. Following court orders, the process of lifting restrictions on the projects began last year, after homebuyers repeatedly sought the resumption of stalled work.

The Supreme Court has classified several special leave petitions (SLPs) and related matters connected with Lotus Greens Constructions Pvt Ltd versus State of Uttar Pradesh for more effective hearings and case management. The cases concerning three projects — Logix Infra Developers on Plot 1 in Sector 150, Lotus Greens Constructions on Plot 2 in the same sector, and 3C Green Developers in Sectors 78-79 — are to be heard separately.

Three nodal lawyers have been appointed for the process, with the next hearings scheduled for December 9, December 12, and January 20, respectively. For Plot 2 in Sector 150, the process of issuing occupancy certificates for housing projects is continuing, while registrations have also begun in some projects, according to the information available on the cases.

Last month, three developers submitted revised layout plans for their respective projects — Logix Infra Developers for Sector 150, 3C Green Developers for Sectors 78-79 and ATS Homes for Sector 152.

The Authority has invited public objections and suggestions on these proposals before taking further action, the official said.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson of Lotus Greens, the consortium lead member, said, “We are thankful to the Supreme court and UP government for lifting ban in the interest of home buyers and all stakeholders.”

“Our consortium members are committed to deliver all world class sports facilities on time,” the spokesperson said.
