New Delhi, Oct 26 A man, stabbed in an alleged revenge attack in Sultanpuri here, managed to drag himself in blood-soaked clothes to his front door and knock repeatedly before collapsing, officials said on Monday. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Hearing the commotion, the 24-year-old deceased’s mother and sister rushed outside moments later, while a neighbour also reached the spot. Police said a neighbour rushed Harsh to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital on a motorcycle and later doctors referred him to Safdarjung Hospital, where he passed away.
The incident occurred around 2 am when Harsh, a Sultanpuri resident, was returning home on a scooter with his companions, Jatin and Krish. Two to three men allegedly rushed towards them near their residence and attacked them with knives before fleeing, police said.
Harsh sustained a stab wound to his chest, while Jatin suffered an injury to his left thigh. Krish was accompanying them at the time of the incident, police said. A PCR call was received around 2 am, reporting that the complainant’s brother had been stabbed.
Harsh was due to get married in about two months, officials said.
Police have arrested a 21-year-old man, identified as Deepak alias Deepu, in connection with the murder and are working to apprehend the other accused.
Based on Jatin’s complaint, police registered an FIR for murder and attempt to murder, among other relevant offences, and launched an investigation. Police analysed CCTV footage and collected local intelligence to identify the attackers.
Police said footage from a camera installed outside Harsh’s house showed him arriving in a severely injured condition and collapsing outside the entrance. Police seized the footage as part of the investigation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Harsh and his associates had earlier clashed with Deepak and his associates over some issue. Both groups allegedly sustained injuries during the altercation before leaving the spot. The accused later recognised Harsh and Jatin and allegedly attacked them with knives in retaliation, police said.
Police said they are conducting further raids to apprehend the remaining accused and establish the exact motive behind the killing. Further investigation is underway, they said.
