Seraikela, Oct 21 A man was allegedly stabbed to death and three others injured in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan district on Wednesday following an altercation over an order for a veg roll at a food stall near a Durga Puja pandal, police said.

The incident happened around 12.30 am near AIADA Bhawan in Adityapur, they said.

The deceased, identified as Sekhar of Mango in Jamshedpur, had visited the pandal with a friend and ordered a veg roll at a food stall. An altercation broke out after the stall owner allegedly delayed serving the order, and Sekhar asked to cancel it, police said.

Members of the Durga Puja committee intervened to pacify those involved but were allegedly attacked by the eatery owner and staff with a knife, leaving four people injured.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital. Sekhar, who was seriously wounded, was later shifted to Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur, where he succumbed, police said.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Anubhav Bhardwaj said the incident stemmed from personal enmity and added that an investigation was underway.
