Jammu, Oct 24 Jammu Zone Inspector General of Police Tejinder Singh on Saturday chaired a security review meeting to assess arrangements ahead of the annual ‘Darbar Move’ to the winter capital, a police spokesperson said.
Under the Darbar Move, the Civil Secretariat and other move offices will close in Srinagar on October 30 and 31 after functioning in the summer capital for six months. They will reopen in Jammu on November 2.
The Omar Abdullah-led government resumed the age-old practice in 2025, four years after it was discontinued by the Lieutenant Governor-led administration.
The meeting, attended by senior officers of the police, intelligence agencies, the Army and central armed police forces, was convened to assess preparedness and ensure coordinated security arrangements ahead of the seasonal shift of government offices to Jammu, the spokesperson said.
Singh emphasised close inter-agency coordination, operational preparedness and timely sharing of intelligence inputs to ensure a safe environment during the functioning of the Darbar in Jammu, he said.
The officers were directed to maintain heightened vigilance and ensure that all necessary security arrangements were put in place in a coordinated and effective manner, the spokesperson added.
