Chandigarh, Oct 23 BJP Haryana affairs in-charge Smriti Irani held a series of party meetings during her two-day visit to the state which concluded on Friday evening.

The BJP national general secretary was on a two-day visit to Haryana.

This was her first visit to the state since she was appointed the BJP Haryana affairs in-charge last month.

The former Union minister, along with BJP’s Haryana co-in-charge Bhola Singh, held the meetings at the party’s state headquarters in Panchkula.

Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao told reporters in Panchkula that “the discussions focused on how we can further strengthen the party organisation in the state and how to effectively take the BJP government’s work to people…”

After the first day of the meetings on Thursday, the Haryana BJP said the meetings focused on booth empowerment, workers’ participation and ensuring that the government’s welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries.

On Friday, in one of the key meetings, Irani, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union ministers Manohar Lal and Rao Inderjit Singh, Haryana minister Anil Vij and state BJP chief Archana Gupta were among those present.

The meeting featured extensive discussions on further strengthening the party organisation.

Another meeting, in which Chief Minister Saini, Irani, Bhola Singh and Haryana ministers were among those present, meaningful deliberations were held on topics related to better coordination between the party organisation and the government, ensuring welfare schemes reach every individual, and accelerating development works in line with public aspirations, Gupta said.

“Our collective resolve is to take Haryana to new heights of progress through public service, good governance, and development,” she added.

On Thursday, Haryana BJP chief spokesperson Sanjay Sharma said the visit of Irani and Bhola Singh is significant for providing fresh momentum to the party’s organisational activities in the state.

The objective of the meetings is also to further strengthen the party, review organisational activities, enhance coordination between the government and the party, and formulate strategies for upcoming programmes, he said.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the state BJP said it has set a target to constitute and reconstitute 11-member committees at every booth across Haryana within the next three months to further strengthen its grassroots organisation.

The appointment of ‘panna pramukhs’, workers responsible for individual pages of the electoral roll, will also be ensured at every booth.

Senior party office-bearers will visit districts and interact directly with the workers. These visits will include overnight stays to review organisational activities and strengthen contact with longstanding and senior workers.

“The organisational meetings on the first day focused on booth empowerment, workers’ participation and ensuring that welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries,” the BJP said.
