New Delhi, Oct Amid a row over the removal of certain photographs from Raihan Vadra’s exhibition at Bikaner House here, the BJP on Tuesday took a swipe at Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and asked her to find some other way to “launch” her son into politics.

BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari termed Priyanka Gandhi’s allegations against the authorities “fake news”, saying Bikaner House’s policy states that “political content” cannot be displayed at the exhibitions.

Artist and photographer Raihan Vadra, son of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra, on Wednesday said the Bikaner House administration had taken down several of his photographs depicting recent protests in Delhi ahead of a solo exhibition, triggering a controversy.

Priyanka Gandhi termed the move “ridiculous”, accusing the authorities of “muzzling” the voice of the youth.

“Today it’s him, tomorrow it’ll be another artist,” she told PTI.

Hitting back, Bhandari said in a video message on X, “Priyanka Vadra ji, there could be other ways to launch your son, but at the very least, stop telling lies under the cover of the Tricolour.”

“Bikaner House has a policy which clearly states that no political content can be displayed in any exhibition, and that such content must be removed immediately,” he said.

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia, too, took a potshot at the Congress, saying, “Priyanka mummy mission is now underway to launch Raihan Vadra after Sonia Gandhi failed to launch Rahul Gandhi, a defective product who led the Congress to defeat in 99 elections.”

Bhandari said Priyanka Gandhi’s reaction on the issue revealed that a “full-on (political) fight” between her and Rahul Gandhi is underway.

“The question that arises today is whether Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has lost faith in Rahul Gandhi and is seeking to launch Raihan Vadra under the cover of her lies regarding Bikaner House,” he said.

“She should find other ways to launch her son,” Bhandari added.

Earlier in a message tagging Raihan, Priyanka Gandhi, in an apparent swipe at the Union government, said, “When someone with power becomes afraid of the expression of another, he doesn’t know it, but he has already lost the very power he is trying to protect.”

Addressing her son, she said, “You stand for what is true, and everything beautiful will find its way to you. I am proud of you, always will be.
