Thane, Oct 25 The Maharashtra Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) has urged business leaders and industry partners to actively participate in the Union government’s newly launched Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs initiative.

DVET Maharashtra director Satish Suryawanshi urged local enterprises to leverage the PM-SETU framework to drive economic growth and industrial transformation across the state.

“Trainees graduating from ITIs urgently need to adapt to evolving industry requirements. Entrepreneurs must take the lead to address prevailing manpower shortages while benefiting from strong Union government support and budget allocations,” he said at Udyog Samvad Melawa here on Saturday.

Under the PM-SETU initiative, the government aims to overhaul the country’s technical training ecosystem by modernizing ITI infrastructure, aligning curricula with current market needs, and expanding apprenticeship and job placement opportunities through direct industry involvement, officials said.
