New Delhi, Oct 24 The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Saturday held its 11th stakeholder consultation on the Master Plan for Delhi-2047, with a focus on easing traffic congestion and improving public transport connectivity, officials said.

The proposed plan envisages expanding the Metro network from 416 km to 695 km and the Namo Bharat network in the National Capital Region from 82 km to 383 km.

It also proposes strengthening multimodal integration through transit hubs at Sarai Kale Khan, Anand Vihar and Kashmere Gate, with improved last-mile connectivity through intermediate public transport and non-motorised transport, the DDA said.

During the consultation, the authority briefed stakeholders on provisions relating to transport infrastructure, connectivity, active travel and parking management.

The measures aim to improve access to newly urbanised areas, reduce congestion, revitalise underutilised transport assets and and ensuring better integration of land use and transport systems, the DDA said.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the Asian Development Bank, the Public Works Department, the National Highways Authority of India and other stakeholder organisations, officials said.
