Raipur, Oct 25 BJP national general secretary and Chhattisgarh in-charge Smriti Irani on Sunday called for strengthening the party organisation at the grassroots level, asserting that electoral success depends on the hard work of party workers and their connect with the people.

Addressing a series of organisational meetings at the BJP’s state headquarters in the Kushabhau Thakre Complex here, Irani expressed confidence that the party would retain power in Chhattisgarh with a full majority in the 2028 assembly elections.

She said ‘Mission 2028’ was not merely an electoral target but a commitment to the state’s identity, development and good governance.

Irani stressed that every party programme should be implemented effectively at the grassroots level and called on workers to strengthen the organisation down to the booth level.

“Elections are not won merely through ballots or voting machines, but with the hard work of party workers, their personal connect with people and a strong organisational structure,” she said.

Irani also urged party members to draw inspiration from the sacrifices and national commitment of the BJP’s founding leaders and work with dedication towards public service.

BJP National Secretary and Chhattisgarh co-in-charge Siddharth Shambhu accompanied Irani during her visit to the state capital.

On reaching the party’s state headquarters, Irani visited the ‘Smriti Mandir’ on the premises and paid floral tributes to Bharat Mata and the party’s founding figures.

The party organised a welcome for the two leaders, emphasising simplicity and discipline, with party flags displayed instead of elaborate banners and posters.

The day’s programme began with listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’, followed by meetings with state-level office-bearers and organisational functionaries.

Irani also held discussions with divisional and district in-charges, former MPs and MLAs, and chairpersons of various state corporations, boards and commissions. The meetings focused on reviewing organisational work, improving coordination and setting future priorities.

State BJP president Kiran Deo, organisational general secretary Karmveer Singh, general secretaries Yashwant Jain, Akhilesh Soni and Dr Naveen Markandey, among other party functionaries, attended the meetings.
