Kolkata, Oct 29 The BJP will hold a mega rally in Kolkata on Monday, led by its national president Nitin Nabin, to mobilise public opinion against alleged attempts by opposition forces to “destabilise” elected NDA governments across the country.
The march, christened ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’, is scheduled to begin from College Street and culminate at Dharmatala, with several senior BJP leaders, including state president Samik Bhattacharya, set to participate in it.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari may also join the rally, state BJP leaders said.
The march is aimed at mobilising public opinion against what the BJP has described as attempts by opposition forces to destabilise elected NDA governments across the country over allegations of “vote chori”, party sources said.
The Kolkata rally assumes significance as it comes a day after the proposed INDIA bloc mega rally in New Delhi on Sunday.
The BJP’s decision to organise the march in Kolkata a day later is being seen as part of its efforts to counter the opposition’s political mobilisation.
