Bhubaneswar, Oct 28 The winter session of the Odisha Assembly is scheduled to commence on November 18 and continue till December 31, according to a notification issued on Wednesday.
The state government will present its supplementary budget for the financial year 2026-27 on the first day of the session, which will have 33 business days. The Appropriation Bill is scheduled to be placed in the House on November 30.
The demands for grants relating to the supplementary budget will be discussed for three days from November 25, the notification said.
At least 23 days have been allocated for official business while six days are reserved for private members’ bills and resolutions.
The assembly will remain closed on the occasion of Rasa Purnima on November 24 and Christmas on December 25. The House will not meet on Sundays and second Saturdays during the period, it said.
The session is likely to be stormy as the opposition has lined up several issues, including the recent rape and murder of a girl in Balasore, floods and farmers’ plight, to corner the government.
