Panaji, Oct 28 Goa minister Vishwajit Rane said on Wednesday that the ruling BJP has gone into election mode following the visit of party president Nitin Nabin and is targeting over 30 seats in next year’s assembly polls in the state.

Rane said he and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday night discussed the strategy for the upcoming elections to the 40-member Goa assembly.

Nabin concluded his two-day visit to the coastal state on Wednesday, during which he addressed the state executive committee meeting and also interacted with the youth through a “Yuva Samvad” initiative.

“Our target is to win more than 30 of the 40 seats in the upcoming election with a historic margin. Considering the developmental works undertaken by the BJP-led government in the state with the help of the Centre, our victory is assured,” Rane told PTI.

With the visit of their national president, Rane said the BJP had already gone into election mode. The party currently has 28 legislators in the House.

Assembly polls are expected to be held in Goa in February 2027.
