Mumbai, Oct 27 Flight operations at Mumbai International Airport were affected on Tuesday by a system outage that lasted over an hour, prompting airport staff to switch to manual check-in, sources said.

Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), the private airport operator, in a statement said the facility “experienced a temporary network disruption on Tuesday evening, and teams implemented manual processing measures to minimise inconvenience to passengers and maintain continuity of essential airport operations”.

It also added that “so far there has been no impact on airport and flight operations” due to this disruption.

MIAL, however, did not give specific details including for how long the disruption lasted.

According to the live flight-tracking website flightradar24.com, flights at Mumbai International Airport operated with an average departure delay of 50 minutes, and 327 flights were delayed until about 9:30 pm, with 13 per cent of flights cancelled.

However, it was unclear how many of these flights were delayed by the system outage.
