New Delhi, Oct 27 Delhi Police on Tuesday conducted a flag march in the crowded Sadar Bazar market area and reviewed security arrangements amid the ongoing festival season, officials said.
The flag march covered key stretches of the market, including Pahari Dhiraj, Qutub Road and Bara Tooti Chowk, as police personnel took stock of the security arrangements in the busy commercial hub.
During the exercise, police personnel also interacted with traders and members of market associations and assured them of adequate security measures.
Sadar Bazar, a wholesale market, has been witnessing a heavy influx of shoppers and traders ahead of the festive season, prompting police to step up security measures to manage crowds and prevent incidents of theft and other criminal activities.
Additional police personnel have been deployed in the area, while CCTV cameras are being used to monitor movement in crowded stretches. Police pickets have also been strengthened to maintain law and order and ensure the smooth movement of shoppers.
