CEO Clarifies Rules on Form 7 Applications

Responding to media reports about the alleged generation of around 60,000 Form 7 applications for voter deletion, the Chief Electoral Officer said there was no provision for bulk generation of these forms.

He explained that each Form 7 must be generated in the name of the competent electoral officer after the prescribed inquiry and the passing of a reasoned order.

The officer responsible for conducting the hearing, whether an Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or an Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO), must follow the prescribed procedure.

How to Check the Karnataka Final Voter List 2026

The Chief Electoral Officer appealed to voters across Karnataka to verify their names and personal details in the final electoral roll.

Eligible citizens whose names are missing from the voter list can submit Form 6 to apply for inclusion, subject to the applicable rules.

Voters should check their registration details through the official Election Commission voter services or Karnataka election department channels and follow the prescribed procedure for corrections or new registrations.

The publication of the Karnataka final electoral roll marks the completion of the scheduled SIR exercise, with the Election Commission urging eligible citizens to ensure that their voter details are accurate and up to date.
