Dehradun, Oct 20 Gearing up for the 2027 assembly election, the state Congress unit on Tuesday shared a roadmap for ‘Uttarakhand Nyay Yatra’, where the party will reach out to the public to highlight the BJP government’s ‘anti-people policies’ and the ‘pressing issues facing the state’.

Congress leaders said that the ‘Uttarakhand Nyay Yatra’ will be conducted across various assembly constituencies in Dehradun district.

On Tuesday, the Uttarakhand Congress held a meeting chaired by ex-state president Pritam Singh, the chairman of the party’s election campaign committee.

The discussion focused on preparations for the proposed ‘Uttarakhand Nyay Yatra,’ which aims to address issues such as rising unemployment, inflation, corruption, violence against women, deteriorating law and order, and other critical challenges facing the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Singh said, “Under the BJP government’s rule, the people of Uttarakhand are suffering due to inflation, unemployment, corruption, and a crumbling law-and-order situation. The state’s youth are struggling to find employment, women feel unsafe, and farmers, labourers, traders, and ordinary citizens are distressed by the government’s anti-people policies.”

He asserted that the BJP government has failed to fulfil the promises made to the public.

“The ‘Uttarakhand Nyay Yatra’ is not merely a political event but a campaign, a fight for the rights, dignity, and justice of the people of the state. Through this march, the Congress party intends to bring the failures of the BJP government to the attention of the public while also listening to the concerns of the common people and pledging to fight for their resolution,” Singh said.

He added that the people of the state are prepared to respond to the ‘anti-people policies’ of the BJP government in the 2027 assembly elections.

Singh said during the campaign, Congress workers will engage in direct dialogue with the public across various assembly constituencies in the Dehradun district.

He added that the participation of senior party leaders, office bearers, and workers would be ensured to garner widespread public support for the march.

During the meeting, discussions were also held on the proposed route of the march, the programmes to be organised in different assembly constituencies, such as public meetings, street-corner gatherings, and the framework for public outreach campaigns.

Additionally, special emphasis was placed on coordinating with party office-bearers and workers in the respective assembly constituencies to ensure the successful execution of the march.
