Jhansi (UP), Oct 25 A 26-year-old woman died after slipping in a hotel under suspicious circumstances in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district on Sunday, police said.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Preeti Singh said that the deceased has been identified as Muskan. She had come to her father’s home to appear for a railway examination.
According to the ASP, Muskan’s husband Nilesh, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, took her to a hotel on Sipri Road a day earlier.
The ASP said that Muskan collapsed suddenly while checking out of the hotel in the afternoon. Her husband immediately rushed her to the district hospital, where she died during treatment.
She added that the CCTV footage of the hotel shows Muskan falling after she slipped. However, the actual circumstances surrounding the incident will only be determined after the post-mortem examination report comes, she added.
The woman’s father has accused her husband of pushing her to death.
SHO of Sipri Bazar JP Chaubey said that the police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination.
He said that no written complaint had been received from the family of the deceased.
