Dehradun, Oct 16 Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday approved a proposal to induct two Agniveers from the first batch set to retire from the Indian Army in November 2026 into the 40th Battalion of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC).
The state government said that it received a communication from a Joint Secretary to the Government of India, saying that the first batch of Agniveers recruited under the Agnipath scheme is due to complete their service with the Armed Forces in November 2026.
It also made a request for the induction of two Agniveers from Uttarakhand.
Dhami authorised the induction of the two Agniveers into the 40th Battalion of the PAC, filling available vacant positions, the Uttarakhand government said.
“The Agnipath scheme is fostering a spirit of discipline, service to the nation, and dedication to duty among the youth of our country. The skills, experience, and discipline that Agniveers acquire during their service in the Indian Army constitute an invaluable asset to the nation,” Dhami said.
“Our government deeply respects the contributions and capabilities of these Agniveers. It is our endeavour to ensure that these young individuals who have already served the nation, get further opportunities to serve the state, allowing Uttarakhand to benefit from their military experience, discipline, and proficiency,” he added.
