Lucknow, Oct 15 Uttar Pradesh Congress president Aradhana Mishra Mona on Thursday alleged irregularities in the V B-G RAM G scheme’s digital attendance system in 11 districts and demanded a probe.
Addressing a press conference here, she alleged that fake attendance was recorded through cloned mobile applications and questioned whether workers were actually present at work sites.
The districts include Ayodhya, Sambhal, Rampur, Hardoi, Ghazipur, Deoria, Maharajganj, Chandauli, Ghaziabad, Bahraich and Jalaun.
In Ayodhya, attendance for 1,124 workers was recorded between September 25 and 27, involving wages of around Rs 3.37 lakh. In Sambhal, she said, 5,587 workers were shown as present, with alleged irregularities involving around Rs 16 lakh.
UP Congress president also alleged that cloned applications resembling the government’s National Mobile Monitoring System app were used in three districts to record attendance using stored photographs.
She said the Union Rural Development Ministry had warned states about digital attendance manipulation in July 2025. The Congress demanded verification of attendance records, work sites and wage payments, along with action against those found responsible for fraudulent entries.
The VB-G RAM G scheme (Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)) is a flagship rural employment guarantee programme that took effect on July 1, 2026, replacing the MGNREGA.
