Kolkata, Oct 16 A female employee of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) has lodged a complaint, accusing a security officer of intimidating and humiliating her.
In her complaint to the institute’s administrative officer, the employee of the Tutorial Office alleged that the security officer spoke to her in an intimidating tone, repeatedly questioned her identity and authority, and ordered her to leave his office.
A copy of the complaint was shared by the SRFTI students’ union, which has been protesting over various demands, including enhanced security on the campus.
The employee said the incident happened after she was assigned telephone operator duties as the regular operator was on leave.
She said she had served the institute for more than three decades and had always tried to discharge her duties sincerely.
Describing the incident as workplace harassment and an affront to her dignity and self-respect, she urged the authorities to treat the matter seriously, conduct a fair investigation and take appropriate action.
An SRFTI official said the institute was looking into the allegations.
