Bhopal, Oct 21 Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to 954 persons selected on compassionate grounds in the School Education Department.
Speaking at a programme organised by the department, he also announced that 200 new Sandipani school buildings have been approved for tribal-dominated areas.
The buildings will be constructed under the Tribal Affairs Department. Additionally, 200 new school buildings will be constructed under the School Education Department, Yadav said.
Speaking about appointments on compassionate grounds, he said the untimely death of a government employee leads to significant disruption in the family’s income, dealing it a serious blow. The state government considers the kin of such employees as family, Yadav said.
“Today, the school education department has granted compassionate appointments to 954 officers and employees, besides rewarding them for their outstanding work. This will serve as a source of inspiration for all,” he said.
The government prioritised compassionate appointments during the festive season, the CM noted.
Those who received appointment letters on Wednesday comprised 661 Assistant Grade-3, 31 Primary Teachers and 262 Class IV employees.
Yadav also informed that until 2002-03 (apparently referring to the Congress regime), the school education budget was under Rs 400 crore, which has now increased to Rs 38,000 crore.
High-quality facilities including modern labs and sports infrastructure were being provided in schools, the CM said.
School Education and Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh also spoke on the occasion.
