Bareilly, Oct 15 The Indian Air Force’s renowned Sarang Helicopter Display Team enthralled spectators with an aerial display here on Thursday, showcasing the capabilities of five indigenously developed Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Dhruv.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by students, NCC cadets and families, who cheered as the helicopters performed complex manoeuvres and formed synchronised formations in the sky.
Returning to Bareilly after 2018, the Sarang team demonstrated the Indian Air Force’s precision, coordination, professional competence and operational skills, while highlighting the country’s indigenous aviation capabilities, officials said.
Squadron Leader Ankita, a member of the team, urged young people to recognise their talents, dream big and work hard to achieve their goals.
“Recognise your potential. The entire sky is waiting for your dreams to take flight,” she said, emphasising the importance of confidence, discipline and continuous practice in pursuing an aviation career.
Ankita said being part of the Sarang team was a matter of pride and that its pilots underwent rigorous training to perform intricate manoeuvres requiring exceptional concentration and precision.
Flying helicopters in close formation and creating different patterns in the sky was not merely a display of spectacle but also an illustration of the pilots’ skills, technical expertise and teamwork, she said.
Encouraging aspiring candidates to join the armed forces, Ankita said young people should focus on technical knowledge, physical fitness and mental resilience.
They should learn from challenges rather than be discouraged by them, she added.
During the display, the five helicopters flew in coordinated formations, leaving colourful smoke trails across the sky and creating striking visual patterns.
The performance highlighted the capabilities of the indigenous Advanced Light Helicopters and the high level of training, discipline and coordination required for such displays.
The Sarang team’s objective goes beyond aerial aerobatics, as it also seeks to showcase the Indian Air Force’s professional capabilities, promote indigenous aviation technology and inspire young people to pursue careers in aviation and national service.
