Talking to reporters, the governor said, “I offer my heartfelt salutations to the sacred land of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and its people. I express my deepest gratitude to the nation’s top leadership for providing me with the opportunity to serve this sacred land.”
He said Uttarakhand is not merely a state, but a centre of the country’s faith and culture. “It is the land of the four sacred Char Dhams — Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. It is also home to divine and holy sites, such as Adi Kailash and Jageshwar Dham. The region is world-renowned for its unique tourist destinations,” he said.
The governor further noted that, alongside being “Devbhoomi” (land of gods), the hill state is also a “Veerbhoomi” (land of the brave).
“In this region, almost every family has a member serving in the armed forces to protect the nation. The women of the state are remarkably empowered and inspirational, while its youngsters, farmers and the entire society are exceptionally hardworking and resilient. This is the reason why Uttarakhand is currently advancing rapidly across various stages of development,” he said.
The governor said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking from the precincts of Kedarnath, had declared that “the third decade of the 21st century will be the decade of Uttarakhand”.
“Realising this vision, we must sustain the momentum of the state’s development and propel it toward new heights,” he added.
