Hyderabad, Oct 19 Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday asked officials to make international-standard arrangements for the ‘Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026’, to be organised by the state government from December 7 to 9.

Reddy inaugurated the Future City Police Commissionerate building at Ibrahimpatnam and laid the foundation stone for the National Institute of Urban Management (NIUM) complex in Bharat Future City, which the state government is developing on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

He later visited the under-construction Young India Skills University in Future City.

As the Summit would be held on the University’s premises, he asked officials to complete the construction works soon and focus on arrangements for the grand event, a press release said.

The arrangements should impress industrialists visiting from various parts of India and abroad, he said.

He said the Summit would not only be an event to attract investments but would be a “historic venue to change the face of Telangana politically and economically.”

Congress MPs Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and Mallu Ravi, several ruling Congress MLAs, DGP C V Anand and Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi were present on the occasion, the release said.

Reddy had earlier said the government aimed to build Bharat Future City in a way that it would “compete” with world cities like Singapore.

The NIUM complex will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore on 20 acres allotted free of cost by the state government in Future City, the release said.

Its construction was sanctioned in 2009 under the Centre’s Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). A Central government committee had then agreed to provide Rs 50 crore on the condition that the state government offered land, but the land was not allotted at the time.

The state government has now cleared the way for the project by offering land in Future City, the release said.

Reddy directed officials to complete construction of the NIUM complex by June 2, 2028, which is Telangana Formation Day.
