New Delhi, Oct 21 Global head of Chinmaya Mission, Swami Swaroopananda, on Wednesday launched his book “You Are The Sky: An Ancient Guide to Modern Feelings”, which can help people understand their emotions without letting them define their lives, a statement said.
Drawing on Vedantic philosophy and modern psychology, the book examines emotions such as anger, fear, jealousy, guilt and sadness, and their impact on thoughts, behaviour and relationships, according to the statement.
It encourages readers to acknowledge their feelings rather than suppress them or react impulsively, it said.
“Emotions bring richness to our lives, but when we either suppress what we feel or react impulsively, we lose our inner peace,” Swaroopananda said at the launch at India Habitat Centre.
The publisher, Pan Macmillan India, claimed that the book has sold close to 7,000 copies before its official launch.
Swaroopananda said the book combines ancient Vedantic wisdom with modern psychology to help people understand their emotions and respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity.
Pujitha Krishnan, editorial director at Pan Macmillan India, said the book combines Vedanta with contemporary understanding of physiology, neurology and psychology to help readers develop a better relationship with their minds.
The launch comes as Chinmaya Mission marks its 75th year. The organisation will hold the Chinmaya Global Sammelan in New Delhi from October 23 to 25 as part of its anniversary celebrations.
