Lucknow, Oct 27 The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday approved proposals to issue letters of comfort to four companies to set up global capability centres (GCCs) in Gautam Buddh Nagar with a proposed investment of Rs 1,709.84 crore.

The approved proposals include those of Havells India, Ameriprise India LLP, MetLife Global Operations Support Centre Pvt Ltd and LG Soft India Pvt Ltd under the Uttar Pradesh Global Capability Centre Policy-2024.

Havells India has proposed an investment of Rs 879 crore, and LG Soft India has committed to invest Rs 634 crore. Ameriprise India will invest Rs 112.84 crore, and MetLife Global Operations Support Centre will infuse Rs 84 crore, according to a government statement.

The projects are expected to strengthen the state’s GCC ecosystem, expand high-skilled business activities and create employment opportunities for skilled professionals.

Havells India and LG Soft India have proposed setting up their projects under the Noida Authority, and Ameriprise India and MetLife have proposed their centres at Embassy Oxygen Business Park on private land in Gautam Buddh Nagar.

The cabinet approved incentives for Havells India and LG Soft India on a case-to-case basis. Ameriprise India and MetLife would be eligible for incentives under the state policy, the statement said.

Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said the state government notified the Uttar Pradesh Global Capability Centre Policy-2024 on May 7, 2025, to position the state as a competitive investment destination at the national and international levels.

The government subsequently issued the GCC Implementation Rules-2025 on January 7, 2026.

The proposals of the four companies were considered at a meeting of the high-level empowered committee, chaired by the state’s chief secretary, on July 10, 2026. The cabinet’s approval paved the way for the issuance of letters of comfort to the companies, the statement said.

Global capability centres are facilities established by multinational and large companies to undertake functions such as technology development, research, financial services, digital operations, engineering and other global business activities, the government said.
