Lucknow, Oct 26 The Uttar Pradesh BJP will undertake ‘Loktantra Bachaao, Arajaktaa Hataao’ (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) ‘padyatra’ in six organisational regions of the state beginning November 3 in a bid to “expose” the opposition’s “false” political agenda and “double standards” regarding constitutional values and electoral processes, the party said.
UP BJP’s general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh on Monday, while issuing instructions for the campaign, said that the party will respond to the opposition’s “baseless protests” through its ‘Loktantra Bachaao, Arajaktaa Hataao’ campaign.
Singh said that the BJP will conduct ‘padyatras’ (foot marches) across all six regions, claiming the party will expose the opposition’s anti-national politics, their dangerous agenda for regime change and their sinister designs to destabilise the nation.
Furthermore, the party aims to unite the public by emphasising national unity, constitutional values, social harmony and civic duties, he said.
UP is likely to face polls early next year.
In a statement issued by the UP BJP, Singh said that the ‘padyatra’ for the Avadh region will be taken out in Lucknow on November 3.
The ‘padyatra’ for the Kashi region will be taken out in Prayagraj on November 4.
Similarly, the ‘padyatra’ for the Gorakhpur region will be held in Gorakhpur and that of the Kanpur-Bundelkhand region will take place in Kanpur on November 4.
On November 5, the ‘padyatra’ for the ‘Paschim Kshetra’ (western region) and the Braj region will be taken out in Ghaziabad and Bareilly respectively, Singh said.
