A two-judge bench of Justices Rajiv Gupta and Devendra Singh ordered to list the plea for hearing after two weeks.

The Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer, the Election Commission of India, the Union government, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, the Uttar Pradesh government, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have been made parties in the plea.

A former chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Shukla presently serves as a vice-president of the BCCI.
