Darjeeling, Oct 22 The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) carried around 12,000 passengers on its heritage toy train joyrides during the first three weeks of October, an official said on Thursday.
The UNESCO World Heritage railway earned a revenue of Rs 1.41 crore between October 1 and 21, the official said.

Since October 1, the DHR has been operating special joyrides between Darjeeling and Ghum, along with two round-trip services between Kurseong and Mahanadi, the official said.
One of the Kurseong-Mahanadi round trips is operated by a steam locomotive, while the other is hauled by a diesel engine, she added.
