Gurugram, Oct 20 Panic ensued in the Sushant Lok-1 area here after a five-storey building under construction tilted approximately 2 to 2.5 inches to one side due to excavation work for the foundation on the adjoining plot, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, after receiving the information, they rushed to the spot and evacuated residents from nearby houses, averting a major disaster.
Based on the complaint of the owner of plot number 1770, Block-C, police registered an FIR against the adjoining plot owner, contractor, and JCB operator at the Sushant Lok police station.
“The Gurugram police’s prompt response ensured that timely precautionary measures were taken, thereby averting potential loss of life and property. Police registered an FIR, and a probe is underway. Action will be taken as per the law,” a senior police officer said.
