Jaipur, Oct 16 Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore on Friday accused the Congress of attempting to create political instability through calls for “regime change” and “resistance”, saying a change of government must come through elections and constitutional processes, not street protests that turn violent.
In a statement, Rathore alleged that the Congress was trying to avenge its electoral defeats by creating unrest and obstructing the country’s development.
He said slogans suggesting that political change could be achieved through street movements rather than Parliament reflected an attempt to promote anarchy.
“The Constitution given to us by Babasaheb Ambedkar empowers people to change governments through their votes, not through hooliganism on the streets,” Rathore said.
Targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his allegations of vote theft, Rathore said Gandhi had described the issue as a “hydrogen bomb”, but his claims had failed to produce any concrete outcome.
He claimed that the Congress had not filed a single appeal against the electoral rolls and questioned the seriousness of its allegations against the Election Commission.
Rathore also accused the Congress of internal factionalism and urged its Rajasthan leadership to focus on public issues rather than political infighting.
He said India was making significant progress in economic development, defence production and international standing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BJP leader alleged that the Congress was undermining these achievements through negative politics and should instead play the role of a constructive opposition.
“People want development, good governance and public welfare, not politics that promotes anarchy and instability,” he said.
