Chennai, Oct 14 Tamil Nadu Minister for Public Works Aadhav Arjuna attended on Wednesday a high-level meeting to integrate modern technology in tackling potential flooding as well as monitoring vulnerable areas across Chennai.
During the strategic discussions, officials reviewed advanced equipment, specifically noting technology capable of a 360-degree rotation. To ensure localised and rapid assessments, the feasibility of deploying and monitoring drones for each zone was actively proposed.
By potentially incorporating zone-wise drone surveillance and advanced rotating cameras, the Public Works Department aims to significantly enhance its real-time response capabilities, said Arjuna to reporters. This, he added, will ensure a proactive approach to managing water stagnation and safeguarding residents during the upcoming heavy rains.
