Haldwani, Oct 14 Congress MLA from Haldwani, Sumit Hridayesh, on Wednesday alleged a conspiracy to assassinate him and claimed that the phones of his family members are being tapped.
Hridayesh made the statement while addressing the media.
The MLA expressed concerns about his security, a charge taken cognisance of by former chief minister Harish Rawat.
“Sumit Hridayesh ji is endowed with a promising, capable, and serious personality. The points he has put forward before the press today are extremely concerning. He has expressed apprehensions about the kind of uncomfortable and challenging situations organised gangs can create for individuals active in public life,” Rawat said on Social media.
Rawat added that Hridayesh has pointed towards the patronage received by such gangs.
The Congress leader said he was worried after the party MLA’s revelations.
“I have also attempted to contact him. I would like to tell him that he should face this situation with complete patience, courage, and restraint. In this difficult time, we all stand with him and will remain with him in every situation,” he said.
