Panaji, Oct 14 An international group of travellers touring the globe on a private jet visited the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral in Goa, according to an official release.
Goa featured as the sole Indian stop on luxury travel pioneer Geoffrey Kent’s exclusive global tour, titled ‘Around the World with Geoffrey Kent: An Inspiring Expedition by Private Jet’.
The expedition has been organised between October 13 and 15 by luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent, with Goa-based destination management company TRAVELSMITH facilitating the state leg of the journey.
The itinerary showcases Goa’s heritage, architecture, waterways, traditional cuisine and cultural traditions, moving beyond its popular beach tourism offering, according to the release.
The programmes include a catamaran cruise along the state’s waterways towards Panaji and a guided walk through the capital city’s historic Latin Quarter.
The programme also includes a private visit to the Goa Chitra Museum, an introduction to the indigenous spirit “feni” and a specially curated culinary experience at the historic Figueiredo Mansion.
The expedition will conclude with a beachside dinner inspired by Goa’s carnival traditions, featuring live Konkani and Western music.
Tourism Minister Rohan A Khaunte said Goa’s inclusion as the sole Indian destination on the expedition reflected its growing appeal among international travellers seeking premium and immersive experiences.
The state government was focusing on showcasing Goa beyond its beaches through heritage, gastronomy, living traditions and curated tourism experiences, he said.
Director of Tourism Kedar Naik said the inclusion of Goa in the exclusive global journey provided an opportunity to showcase the state’s diverse tourism offerings to an international audience.
Goa’s heritage, cuisine, waterways and living traditions allowed visitors to experience the destination beyond its familiar attractions, he said.
