Patna, Oct 18 Bihar Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain on Sunday greeted people on the occasion of Durga Puja.
Hasnain, who took over as the governor earlier this year, briefly interacted with journalists after visiting the Durga pandal at the city’s Dak Bungalow crossing.
He said, “I consider myself lucky to have come to Bihar as the governor. I am thrilled to be taking part in Durga Puja celebrations in the state for the first time”.
“I would like to convey my good wishes to all on the occasion. I also extend my greetings ahead of Dussehra”, he said.
He, however, declined to comment on the death of several people in Kolkata where a stampede broke out at a Durga Puja pandal the previous night.
“It is not for me to speak on that issue. I want to say nothing except extending my festive greetings”, said Hasnain.
