Kohima, Sep 22 (PTI) A team of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) on Tuesday briefed Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on its functioning, examination activites, departmental promotion committee (DPC) proceedings, achievements, challenges and future plans, an official statement said.
The NPSC team told the governor that the commission had revised the syllabi and examination patterns for Nagaland Civil Service, Nagaland Police Service, and allied services to align them with evolving standards, with greater emphasis on analytical ability, general awareness and administrative aptitude. It also outlined the revised syllabus and examination pattern for the Combined Technical Services Examination.
On digital initiatives, the NPSC team said the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) had awarded it a certificate of appreciation for integrating its recruitment portals with DigiLocker, the Lok Bhavan statement said.
The NPSC said Nagaland had become the first state in the Northeast and the third state in India to implement both DigiLocker and eSign models, advancing paperless recruitment and digital public service infrastructure.
The NPSC has received 16,433 applications for the Nagaland Civil Services and Allied Services Examination during 2025-26.
The NPSC identified the increasing number of candidates as a major challenge, resulting in a shortage of suitable examination centres. It also highlighted the need for additional manpower and larger examination facilities.
Looking ahead, the Commission outlined plans for three-tier examinations for Combined Technical Services, online submission of departmental requisitions and construction of an examination hall at the NPSC complex.
