Jaipur, Oct 16 A private education consultancy and its representatives were booked for allegedly conducting unauthorised counselling at SMS Medical College here during the Rajasthan NEET-UG medical and dental admission counselling process, officials said on Friday.
The case was registered against Medipedia Overseas Education Private Limited and its representatives based on a complaint filed by the chairman of the State NEET-UG Medical and Dental Counselling Board at SMS Hospital police station.
According to the complaint, the company’s representatives allegedly entered the counselling venue to promote private counselling services to students.
The representatives presented their services in a manner that could mislead students into believing that they were associated with the official counselling process, the Board alleged.
It expressed concern that such activities could create confusion among the applicants and expose them to financial or other difficulties.
The Board also submitted social media promotional material, photographs and other digital evidence to police and sought an investigation into the company’s activities and the role of its representatives.
The counselling board advised students to rely on official government guidelines for NEET-UG admissions and verify the credentials of private agencies before availing themselves of their services.
