Lucknow, Oct 14 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will perform the ‘bhoomi pujan’ of Padma Lok Apartment, a multi-story residential project to come up in Prayagraj on government land freed from the possession of mafia leader Atiq Ahmed, his office said on Wednesday.

The chief minister will on Thursday hand over house keys to 556 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Pipargaon and unveil the statue of freedom fighter Mahashaya Masuriya Deen Pasi.

He will also address a ‘voter conference’ for the Allahabad-Jhansi Graduates’ Constituency at the Government Press Ground.

Padma Lok Apartment, being constructed by the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) in the Kasari-Masari area, will come up on land that was once encroached upon by mafioso Atiq Ahmed, who is now dead.

According to PDA Secretary Vineet Kumar Singh, the project will span over 9,811 square metres and include a 14-story building.

The residential complex will have 602 flats, each with two bedrooms, a hall, and a kitchen (2BHK), measuring 56.45 square metres.

In addition to residential facilities, the project will have rainwater harvesting unit, a solar system, a swimming pool, a community hall, and a commercial complex.

The PDA selected the flat beneficiaries through a lottery in April 2025.

On Thursday, after the ‘bhoomi pujan’, the chief minister will distribute keys to them.

Later, Adityanath will unveil a statue of Mahashaya Masuriya Deen Pasi at the Teliyarganj intersection and meet his family members.

Mahashaya Masuriya Deen Pasi was a freedom fighter, a member of the Constituent Assembly, a politician, and a prominent social thinker from the Dalit community. He worked extensively to promote education among the Dalits.

The gathering at the Government Press Ground in Prayagraj will be joined by teachers and graduate voters from the constituency’s 10 districts.

The conference supports BJP candidates in the teachers’ and graduates’ MLC elections.
