Lucknow, Oct 17 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers to Maa Kalaratri on the seventh day of Sharadiya Navratri.
Highlighting the significance of the occasion, Chief Minister Adityanath in a post on X in Hindi, wrote, “The divine form of Maa Kalaratri, who destroys demonic forces such as the wicked, asuras and Raktabeej, establishes dharma and grants fearlessness to devotees, conveys the message that the end of unrighteousness, oppression and terror is the foundation for establishing justice, peace and a fearless society.”
Attacking the previous government, the chief minister said, “Before 2017, the darkness of fear and anarchy arising from the terror of mafia elements resembling Raktabeej, rioters and criminals in the state had created serious obstacles in the path of the safety, education and self-reliance of women and daughters.
“In contrast, over the past 9.5 years, the double-engine government’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminals has suppressed these demonic forces and established the rule of law and a fear-free environment in the state.”
The reduction in police response time from 65 minutes in 2016 to just five minutes is clear evidence of the promptness of law and order enforcement in the state and the government’s commitment to women’s safety, the UP government said in a statement on Saturday.
“Encouraged by this very confidence in their safety, women are now working fearlessly even in night shifts. The increase in women’s labour force participation from 12 per cent to more than 36 per cent is evidence that the women of the state, by becoming an economic force, are accelerating Uttar Pradesh’s economic development,” Adityanath said.
