Guwahati, Oct 17 Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended their greetings to people on Durga Puja, hoping that the four-day festival will ensure prosperity and good health for all.
The festivity that marks the triumph of good over evil will strengthen the spirit of unity among the people, the two leaders said.
In his message, the governor said, “Durga Puja marks the eternal essence of victory of good over evil and ushers in hope and a bright future. I hope that the festivity strengthens the spirit of unity to fight against all evils.
The governor prayed to Goddess Durga to fill everybody’s life with devotion, compassion and love, and guide all on the path of righteousness.
Chief Minister Sarma, in a social media post, said, “Best wishes to everyone on the occasion of Maha Saptami. May Maa Durga bless us and ensure the growth and welfare of all.”
The Chief Minister’s Office, in another post, added that Sarma hoped that the goddess’ blessings bring peace, prosperity and happiness to every household, strengthening the bonds of unity and harmony in society.
