Itanagar, Oct 16 Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has asserted that effective financial management and accountability are essential to ensuring that public resources are utilised responsibly.
Mein made the comment after attending the first sitting of the Budget Committee of the eighth Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
The meeting was chaired by Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte.
Mein, who holds the key portfolio of Finance, Planning, and Investment, later said in a social media post, “Effective financial management and accountability are essential to ensuring that public resources are utilised responsibly and in the larger interest of the people.”
The committee’s proceedings will play an important role in budgetary scrutiny and strengthening financial management, he added.
