New Delhi, Oct 13 BJP workers protested near Congress headquarters on Tuesday, demanding an apology from Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over alleged attacks on women.
The party has alleged misbehaviour with its Mahila Morcha workers during their protest outside the Congress office.
This was not an isolated case, Delhi BJP general secretary Mohan Lal Gihara said.
“Just two days ago, Gandhi misbehaved with women police personnel, and yesterday evening, he pushed a pregnant woman journalist,” Gihara charged.
The BJP also filed a police complaint over the alleged incident.
The BJP Mahila Morcha protest was held against alleged harassment of female students by a JNU professor and Congress MP from Manipur, Angomcha Bimol Akoijam.
“Around 8–10 women managed to reach the main gate of Congress headquarters, where Congress workers allegedly pushed and manhandled the BJP Mahila Morcha activists and used abusive language against them,” the Delhi BJP said in a statement.
On Tuesday, the BJP workers gathered at the Bal Bhawan gate near Congress headquarters on DDU Marg, were stopped by the police at a barricade, and a few of them were detained.
