New Delhi, Oct 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a supplementary chargesheet in the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case before a Delhi court. The latest chargesheet names Sheshrav Bajrang Suryawanshi, also known as Raj Suryawanshi, as the 14th accused in the case.

Special Judge Ajay Gupta directed that a copy of the supplementary chargesheet be provided to the counsel representing Suryawanshi. The court scheduled the matter for further proceedings on Thursday.

CBI Alleges Key Role of 14th Accused

According to the CBI, Suryawanshi, a resident of Nanded in Maharashtra, was arrested on September 2. The agency has alleged that he is a close associate of co-accused Shubham Khairnar and played a key role in the alleged NEET paper leak conspiracy.

On August 12, the designated fast-track court dealing with criminal cases related to examination paper leaks and other unfair practices in public examinations took cognisance of the chargesheet filed against 13 other accused.

CBI Investigation and Arrests in the NEET Paper Leak Case

The CBI launched its crackdown on May 13, arresting Mangilal, Dinesh and Vikas Biwal in Rajasthan. Investigators reportedly found leaked question paper PDFs on their mobile phones, which had allegedly been received through Telegram on April 29.

On the same day, the agency arrested Yash Yadav in Gurugram and Shubham Khairnar in Nashik. Another accused, Dhananjay Lokhande, was arrested in Pune for allegedly attempting to destroy his mobile phone to remove evidence.

Manisha Sanjay Waghmare was arrested in Pune on May 14. According to the CBI’s earlier chargesheet, she allegedly played a major role in leaking and distributing NEET-UG 2026 questions for money. The agency also alleged that she acted as a link between candidates and subject experts.

The investigation subsequently led to the arrest of alleged mastermind P. V. Kulkarni in Latur on May 15, followed by Manisha Mandhare in Pune on May 16.

Shivraj Motegaonkar, the founder of a coaching centre in Latur, was arrested on May 17. The CBI later arrested Manisha Sanjay Havaldar in Latur on May 22, followed by Tejas Shah in Pune and Dr Manoj Shirure in Latur on May 26.

Digital Evidence in NEET Question Paper Leak Investigation

The CBI has stated that forensic examination of mobile devices helped uncover the alleged conspiracy. Investigators reportedly recovered deleted WhatsApp conversations and PDF documents containing the leaked examination questions.

The digital evidence is a key part of the agency’s investigation into the alleged network involved in obtaining and distributing NEET-UG question papers.

The supplementary chargesheet adds to the proceedings against the accused as the court continues to examine the case.

NEET-UG 2026 Exam Cancellation and Re-Examination

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate), commonly known as NEET-UG, is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to medical colleges across India.

Amid allegations of a question paper leak, the NTA cancelled the examination held on May 3. A re-examination was subsequently conducted on June 21.

The CBI’s investigation focuses on identifying those allegedly involved in the leak and establishing how the examination questions were accessed and circulated before the test.
