Hardoi (UP), Oct 14 The district administration has seized around 38,000 litres of milk from a dairy in the Sandila industrial area of Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district following a raid over suspected adulteration, officials said on Wednesday.
The milk, stored in two tankers at Poonam Dairy, was seized during the operation led by Joint Magistrate and Sandila Sub-Divisional Magistrate Narayani Bhatia on Tuesday evening, they said.
Seven samples were collected and sent for laboratory testing to ascertain whether the milk and other materials found at the premises were adulterated, officials said.
A large quantity of chemicals, milk and other materials were found during the raid, with officials suspecting possible adulteration. The dairy is reportedly operated by a man named Pradeep Gupta, they said.
Sandila Additional Superintendent of Police and Circle Officer Shlok Gautam, and officials from the food safety and revenue departments were present during the operation.
Bhatia said further action would be taken after receiving the test reports.
