Shillong, Oct 13 The Meghalaya Cabinet on Tuesday passed a resolution thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support to the state and the Northeast on the completion of 25 years of his public service, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said.

The resolution acknowledged Modi’s commitment to “Seva, good governance and Nation First”, he said.

“The Cabinet today passed a resolution expressing the deep gratitude of the government and people of Meghalaya to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji on the completion of 25 years of his service to the nation,” Sangma said in a statement.

Modi last week completed a 25-year journey of public service that started on October 7, 2001 as the CM of Gujarat and continued as the Prime Minister from May 13, 2014.

“From capital investment and rural roads to drinking water, housing, livelihoods, healthcare, agriculture and tourism, the support of the Union Government has contributed to tangible improvements in the lives of our people,” the chief minister said.

The Cabinet also reaffirmed Meghalaya’s commitment to working in partnership with the Centre in the spirit of “Team India” towards building a Viksit Meghalaya as an integral part of Viksit Bharat 2047, he said.

The resolution emphasised the need to ensure that the benefits of development reach every household in the state, Sangma added.
