Similarly, in April 2026, reports about a police raid at a pub in Hyderabad stated that the son of an IAS officer from Andhra Pradesh was among seven people detained over allegations of drug consumption.

These incidents have drawn public attention to allegations involving individuals connected to government service.

Questions Over the Conduct of Senior Officials

Government officials are expected to maintain professional conduct and uphold public trust. Allegations involving senior officers can raise questions about accountability, discipline and the image of the administrative system.

The reported case involving Vikas Marmat has once again highlighted the importance of responsible behaviour by public servants, particularly when interacting with law enforcement agencies. Further official information is awaited to establish the full circumstances of the Bengaluru incident.
