Jammu, Sep 26 Army’s northern commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma and Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat separately visited Udhampur on Saturday and took stock of the ongoing anti-terror operations in the higher reaches bordering Kathua, a route used by infiltrating terrorists in the past to penetrate the hinterland, officials said.
The visit of the Army commander and police chief comes days after two Pakistani terrorists affiliated with proscribed Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit were killed in a joint operation by army, police and CRPF in Soan area of Majalta on September 17.
“Lt Gen Sharma visited General Area Ramnagar to review operational preparedness. He commended troops for their swift, precise, and professional execution of a recent successful operation,” the Udhampur-based Northern Command said in a post on X.
The army said the General Officer commanding-in-chief underlined the need for sustained vigilance and seamless inter-agency coordination to keep the region terror-free.
The DGP along with Inspector General of police, Jammu range, Tejinder Singh visited the area and reviewed the ongoing operations on Udhampur-Kathua faultline, Udhampur police said in a post on X.
In another post, the police said the officers also felicitated the brave personnel, whose extraordinary efforts fructified in neutralisation of two Pakistani Jaish terrorists, in Operation Soan.
