Hardoi (UP), Sep 25 Two minors, who were allegedly in a relationship, were found hanging from a tree here on Friday after posting a message on Instagram, police said.
The incident took place on Thursday evening in Sarangpur village under the Atarauli police station area, where the bodies of the two, aged around 16 years, were found hanging from the same tree, they said.
According to the police, the two minors had gone missing from the village on Thursday evening, following which their families began searching for them. During the search, their family members noticed a status posted by the teenagers on Instagram that read, “I have died, come and see.”
Alarmed by the message, the families and villagers intensified the search and found the two hanging from a tree near the village, the police said.
The incident came to light after the teenagers went missing and their families saw the Instagram status, they said.
Additional Superintendent of Police Subodh Gautam said the police are investigating the circumstances that led the two minors to take the extreme step, he said.
