New Delhi, Sep 25 Chartered accountants’ apex body ICAI has asked its members to plan their assignments in advance and obtain all necessary bank-related information for statutory and tax audits, as there will be a three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to 30.
In an advisory, the institute said the bank strike coincides with important statutory and regulatory compliance timelines, including the completion of statutory/tax audits and holding of Annual General Meetings (AGMs) for companies whose respective due dates fall on September 30.
Citing the situation, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has asked the members to plan their assignments well in advance and obtain all necessary bank-related information, documents and other required confirmations.
“Members may also suitably advise their clients to arrange and provide the requisite banking information and documents at the earliest, so as to avoid any last-minute difficulties and facilitate timely completion of the applicable compliances,” it said in the advisory issued on Thursday.
There are more than 1.5 lakh practising chartered accountants.
