Giridih (Jharkhand), Sep 25 A police officer’s son has been beaten to death allegedly by 10 youths following an altercation at a roadside eatery in Jharkhand’s Giridih district, after which four people were detained, police said on Friday.
Hritik Yadav (24) was the son of an assistant sub-inspector of police in Bokaro district, an official said.
“Yadav had gone to the eatery in Bandarkupi on Thursday night with friends when they got into a heated argument with the group. The war of words turned into a scuffle, and Yadav was badly beaten up,” said Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jeetwahan Oraon.
He was brought to the Sadar hospital, where doctors declared him dead, the officer said, adding that four people have been detained for interrogation.
